Since 1992, Cides has established himself in the music industry, not only for the excellence of his live concert performances but also for his personal artistic creations that extend beyond recording studios into multiple band projects where the Chapman Stick takes center stage. True to his unclassifiable style, this artist has participated in various progressive music festivals, as well as jazz and guitar festivals, even dedicating an entire album to Johann Sebastian Bach.

He has opened concerts for renowned artists such as Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Fish (Marillion), John Wetton (Asia), Rick Wakeman (Yes), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Trey Gunn (King Crimson), and California Guitar Trio among others. He has collaborated with various musicians and spent recent years on extensive tours showcasing his music with the Stick.

Now, he surprises us with a live album that elevates the Stick instrument beyond what we have known to date: from powerful solo and band performances to intimate versions featuring piano, saxophone, vocalists, ensembles with additional Stick players, and classical music—all presented in one night before an audience that, as seen in the video already available to the public, supports their artist as if he were a pop star.

Guillermo Cides is a “rare avis” in our time. True to his philosophy for the past 30 years, he has made music a more enjoyable space, far removed from the harsh competition of today’s Top Ten and algorithms. He firmly believes that music— as the artist states—“It is not about competition or musical heroes, but about pushing your own limits to infinity in an attempt to meet the universe.”
